WHAT IS FLOOR POLYURETHANE?
Polyurethane floor coating is a tough, flexible liquid-applied finish that cures into a seamless, protective floor surface. It is prized for its strength, resistance to impact, abrasion and chemicals, and its ability to perform well in environments with regular traffic and cleaning.
Unlike a purely decorative paint, a professional polyurethane system is built up with primers and coating layers to bond properly and deliver a durable, long-lasting result.

A PROVEN STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS
HOW A POLYURETHANE FLOOR COATING IS APPLIED
A durable polyurethane floor always starts with correct preparation. This simple four-stage system builds the right primer and coating layers for a strong, seamless floor that performs for years under traffic and cleaning.
STEP 1
SURFACE PREPARATION
Grind, clean and degrease the concrete. Remove contamination, repair damage and profile the surface so the system bonds correctly.
STEP 2
PRIMING & FILLING
Apply the correct ARVEAN floor primer and filler to seal the substrate, fill any imperfections and create a strong bond for the topcoat.
STEP 3
APPLYING THE COATING
Roll or apply even coats of ARVEAN polyurethane floor coating over the prepared, primed substrate, allowing correct drying between coats.
STEP 4
CURE & USE
Allow the coating to fully cure before returning the floor to normal use, following the recommended wait time for light and heavy traffic.

How long does a polyurethane floor coating last?
With correct preparation and application it can provide many years of service. Lifespan depends on traffic, the condition of the substrate and how well the floor is maintained.
How long before I can use the floor?
Each coat needs time to cure. Your technical guidance will include recommended wait times before light foot traffic and before returning vehicles or heavy equipment to the floor.
Can it be applied over an existing painted or coated floor?
In many cases yes, provided the existing coating is sound, correctly cleaned and prepared. Send us photos on WhatsApp and our technical team will confirm suitability for your floor.
Is it suitable for a garage, workshop or warehouse?
